Dia de los Muertos Festival

Bay City Texas – FAQ Guide

​

1. When and where is the festival?

The Dia de los Muertos Festival will take place on October 31st 2025 at the Bay City Civic Center Gates open at 6:30pm – 11:00pm. And on November 1st 2025 at the Bay City, Texas, Le Tulle Park at 4:00pm – 10:00pm

 

2. How can I get tickets?

Tickets can be purchased online at www.dayofthedeadbctx.com , at the Bay City Public Library (cash only) until October 24th, or at the festival entrance (availability permitting). We offer:

  • General Admission: $20.00 Friday, October 31st 2025

$15.00 Saturday, November 1st 2025

  • VIP Experience: At this moment there is minimal VIP remaining with only 10 available for Friday October 31st 2025. VIP must be purchased in person at the Bay City Public Library to ensure availability. 

 

3. What events and activities are featured?

  • Live Music & Performances: Friday, October 31st 2025, DJ with Double O Entertainment, Live music performances by ConXzion, and La Fiebre. 

 

November 1st 2025 , DJ with Double O Entertainment, Live Music performances by Jennyy B, Mike Gonzalez and the Iconiczz, and Lucky Joe.

  • Contests: Friday October 31st 2025 Grito Contest. November 1st,  Catrina Contest, Jalapeño Eating Contest, Chancla Throwing Contest

  • Cultural Demonstrations: Danzas Folkloricas de Solei,  Aztec dancers, traditionally inspired and built public ofrenda

  • Kids’ Activities: Face painting, crafts, bounce houses, and more… 

 

4. Are there food and drinks available?

Yes! You’ll find a variety of food vendors offering:

  • Traditional Cuisine 

  • Sweet treats

  • Drinks, include soft drinks, aguas frescas, and adult beverages.

 

5. Is the festival family-friendly?

Absolutely! We welcome attendees of all ages. The October 31st 2025 dance is geared towards adults though children are welcomed if accompanied by an adult. 

November 1st will have a kids zone from 4pm – 7pm.  

 

6. Can I bring my own food or drinks?

Friday October 31st is BYOB only. Food will be available for purchase from our exclusive food truck vendor.

November 1st Outside food and beverages are not allowed! Baby food is allowed, and water bottles for formula are permitted.

 

7. What should I bring, and what is not allowed?

  • Comfortable clothing and shoes

  • Sunscreen or rain gear (weather dependent)

  • ID 

  • Cash or cards (some vendors may not accept cards)

  • Lawn Chairs for November 1st.

 

What is not allowed? 

            Weapons of any kind

            No outside food or drink (November 1st) 

            No Ice Chests

            Large bags are subject to be searched at the gate by local law enforcement.

Service Animals are allowed, however you MUST clean up after your animal. Failure to do so could result in being asked to leave. 

 

8. Is the festival accessible?

Yes! The festival grounds are wheelchair accessible, there is handicap parking and service animals are welcome. For additional accommodations, please contact agarcia@baycitytx.gov

 

9. Where can I park?

General Parking is available at the West bound entrance.

VIP and Vendor parking is located at the East bound entrance. All vehicles entering the East bound entrance are required to have a parking pass or will be turned away.

We encourage carpooling in all areas where possible.

 

10. What safety measures are in place?

  • First aid stations are located at the information booth just inside the festival

  • Local law enforcement will be onsite

  • Lost & Found is at the information booth just inside the festival

  • Fire extinguisher will be located at the Information Booth

 

11. What happens if it rains?

            This is a rain or shine event.  

 

12. If I or my child is volunteering to work this event, where do we park?

  • All volunteers will park at the West bound General parking entrance. 

  • If you are dropping off a volunteer there will be a designated drop off location at the west bound entrance.

  • All volunteers are required to sign in at the information booth. 

  • All volunteers must be preapproved to work this event, and either have their armbands on hand or be on a list at the gates.
